Zoey's First Week Home

People say that adjusting to a new baby takes time.  Looking back on it, having a newborn was not as scary as I expected it to be.  Zoey was a very very good newborn.  We got home on Monday December 19th.  While she did cry some, it was only when she really needed something.  Once I figured out what she wanted, she'd fall back to sleep.  And boy did this kid sleep.

During her first week, I didn't get any pictures of her awake.  She was passed out all the time.  Except on Thursday, December 22.  I think she knew we had plans for that day.  Zoey cried from 3am until noon that day.  I had finally gotten her (and me to sleep) when there was a knock on the door.  I had totally forgotten that we had a newborn photographer coming to the house to take pictures of her.  Ooops.  I was so tempted to turn them away, but I really wanted newborn pictures..and they had driven an hour to get here.  So I let them in, and got the baby (who remained asleep) and we began to take pictures.  Thankfully she remained asleep and I was able to put her back down after the pictures.  When I finally got the pictures given to me, it was all worth it!

Look how tiny she was!
